I’ve been experimenting with a low-power WSPR beacon producing approximately 300 mW.

The beacon currently operates on:

  • 80 metres
  • 40 metres
  • 30 metres
  • 20 metres
  • 15 metres
  • 10 metres

The experiment

One of the interesting aspects of WSPR is the quantity of propagation data that can be collected using extremely low transmitter powers.

Reception reports are stored in a database, allowing propagation on different bands, at different times and through different receiving stations to be compared.
